Here are some useful tips on local laws.
- Stop for stop signs and red lights. Use common sense even when riding with a group and don't run red lights unless an authorized ride attendant has stopped traffic.
- Don't drink and ride.
- Lock up your scooter at your hotel.
- Georgia law requires motorcycles 50cc and higher to be registered and tagged. If your scooter is from another state and is registered/tagged for that state, your state law applies.
- Georgia law requires you have a motorcycle endorsement on your drivers license in order to operate a motorcycle. You may also have a learners permit for daylight riding.
- Georgia law requires you to wear a DOT approved motorcycle helmet when operating a motorcycle or scooter for both you and your passenger. It's also a good idea to wear a full face helmet but not required by law.
