The use of and access to the information on this site is subject to the terms and conditions set out in the Agreement to use this website. Please review this Agreement and Privacy Statement prior to proceeding further.

Privacy & Security Information
Any consumer information gathered on this Site may be used for aggregate research, promotional purposes and/or for future site development. In particular we may use information gathered about you for the following purposes: to send you or, where appropriate, your organization, information about us and promotional material about our products together with details of any offers we may have available from time to time; to monitor interest in our range of products and to assist us to tailor the content of our Site to your needs by collecting information about your preferences through tracking patterns of page views on this site; and to create a profile relating to you in order to show you the content that might be of interest to you and to display the content according to your preferences.

Disclosure of Information
Scootlanta will not disclose personal identifiable information that you provide on this Site to any third parties other than to a Scootlanta agent, except: 1) in accordance with the terms of this privacy policy statement, or 2) to comply with valid legal requirements such as law, regulation, warrant, subpoena or court order.

Cookies
Scootlanta, in common with many website operators, may use standard technology called cookies on this website. You can disable cookies by turning them off in your browser; however, some areas of this website may not function properly if you do so.

Your information is collected via two ways. Firstly, by browsing “Scootlanta,com” will cause the software to create a number of cookies, which are small text files that are downloaded on to your computer’s web browser temporary files. The first two cookies just contain a user identifier (hereinafter “user-id”) and an anonymous session identifier (hereinafter “session-id”), automatically assigned to you by the software. A third cookie will be created once you have browsed topics within “Scootlanta Forums” and is used to store which topics have been read, thereby improving your user experience.

We may also create cookies external to the software whilst browsing “Scootlanta.com”, though these are outside the scope of this document which is intended to only cover the pages created by the software. The second way in which we collect your information is by what you submit to us. This can be, and is not limited to: posting as an anonymous user (hereinafter “anonymous posts”), registering on “Scootlanta.com” (hereinafter “your account”) and posts/articles submitted by you after registration and whilst logged in (hereinafter “your posts”).

Account
Your account will at a bare minimum contain a uniquely identifiable name (hereinafter “your user name”), a personal password used for logging into your account (hereinafter “your password”) and a personal, valid e-mail address (hereinafter “your e-mail”). Your information for your account at “Scootlanta.com” is protected by data-protection laws applicable in the country that hosts us. Any information beyond your user name, your password, and your e-mail address required by “Scootlanta.com” during the registration process is either mandatory or optional, at the discretion of “Scootlanta.com”. In all cases, you have the option of what information in your account is publicly displayed. Furthermore, within your account, you have the option to opt-in or opt-out of automatically generated e-mails from the software.

Password
Your password is ciphered (a one-way hash) so that it is secure. However, it is recommended that you do not reuse the same password across a number of different websites. Your password is the means of accessing your account at “Scootlanta.com”, so please guard it carefully and under no circumstance will anyone affiliated with “Scootlanta.com” or another 3rd party, legitimately ask you for your password. Should you forget your password for your account, you can use the “I forgot my password” feature provided by the software. This process will ask you to submit your user name and your e-mail, then the software will generate a new password to reclaim your account.

Security & Site Safety
This Site incorporates appropriate safeguards using industry standard technology to heighten the security, accuracy and privacy of any personal information we have collected and we have put in place reasonable precautions to protect information from loss and misuse. Our security and privacy policies are periodically reviewed and enhanced as required.

Policies for Online Visitors Under 13 Years of Age
Scootlanta does not provide any personal identifiable information to any third party (other than Scootlanta agents) from our online visitors identified as being under 13 years of age. E-mail addresses of children under 13 are only used to deliver requested information. Although online visitors under 13 years of age may be allowed to participate in some contests or promotions, if such a visitor wins, notification and prizes will be sent to the parent or guardian identified when the child entered the contest or promotion.

If we alter our privacy policy, any changes will be posted on this page of our website so that you are always informed of the information we collect about you, how we use it and the circumstances under which we may disclose it.
